Listening to this show was the first time I truly felt heard and acknowledged in what I experienced supporting my partner through addiction and recovery. I’ve spent so much time trying to learn about addiction, be empathetic, show up for him, but often found myself struggling with feelings of selfishness or shame for needing to support myself and that guilt only made things harder.
This show helped me realize that my feelings are valid, that I’m not alone, and taking care of myself doesn’t mak... more
These two are amazing. I couldn’t have found them at a better time in my life.
In June of 2024, I discovered TWFO. This really helped me understand the parts of the abuse cycle that I didn’t realize was happening. The weaponizing support podcast was the one that hit me the most because it was my current situation and everything made sense. Once you reach the point of what you value most, don’t second guess yourself. I believe that Matt and Paige are so correct when they say their marriage is the exception. I wish everyone could heal, but we must live in reality.
This podcast is very informative and helpful. This beautiful couple is so open and vulnerable and really healthy in their approach to addiction, recovery, how it impacts not only the one who struggles with addiction, but their spouses/partners as well. This podcast helps those of us who love someone who struggles with addiction, particularly with teaching us that we need to recover and heal too
Thank you for helping my find my voice and strength again… Paige and Matt, I am eternally grateful for you both!
