René Coman sits down with the original Troubled Man, Manny Chevrolet, over cocktails at the Ring Room, in the heart of an old-school New Orleans social haunt. Manny is an L.A. native who had been through the Hollywood wringer by his late 20s. He then moved to New Orleans to become a perennial candidate for mayor and make a feature film about it. René is a New Orleans native who's been in the music... more

Renee is well prepared, very knowledgeable and does a wonderful job with these podcasts. However it is curious why a podcast that is largely about New Orleans music and culture would have a co-host that hates the city, doesn’t like music and often is quite rude and offensive. Manny is costing this potentially great podcast listeners.
Once a week therapy session
The hosts tangential remarks and Manny’s feigned ignorance not only get old quickly but show a certain disrespect to the guests. It’s a horrible interview podcast.
A new favorite. Intelligent, thoughtful and funny interviews with intelligent, thoughtful, and usually funny New Orleans-based artists. These guys are awesome, and I feel like we're friends friends at this point.
Never dull. Rene reigns in Manny from certain chaos, but keeps it between the ditches with grace, humor, and a dose of humanity. Thoroughly entertaining and, dare I say it, quite informative. The choice of guests remind me of more late night (but uncensored) late night AM radio of yore, but with the benevolent lunatics in charge. I never miss an episode.
The struggle continues.
