  • Way with words

Dylan Saba has an incredible way with words that perfectly describes the issue at hand. Excellent reporting and dissection of key issues in the struggle for not only Palestinian liberation but freedom for all humans. Bravo!

  • Wanted to root for this pod but the Lebanon episode took me out

We are in enough trouble with Israeli expansionism without the need to entirely whitewash the problems within the resistance. The fact that “say what you will about Assad” is the totality of the commentary permitted in critical reflection of Hezb in Syria is embarrassing enough so as to render the podcast unlistenable. Big shame, unnecessary.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Episode 9: Venezuela Under Siege
Q: Do you read this attack as the Trump administration responding to the demands of the oil industry, or is there something else going on at play with Venezuela's oil?
Oil is definitely at the heart of everything that's happening; the U.S. seeks control over natural resources amid shifting global power dynamics influenced by China.
Episode 9: Venezuela Under Siege
Q: Can you talk about what precisely Maduro and his wife are even being charged with? What jurisdiction is the United States even claiming over Venezuela right now?
The entire process of their arrest is considered illegitimate; it is characterized as a form of kidnapping by a rogue regime attempting to take control over Venezuela's resources.
Episode 8: The Scramble For Somalia
Q: How could the US ensure their national interests in the region?
The US engages with different regional partners, balancing military involvement and economic interests.
Episode 8: The Scramble For Somalia
Q: Did this recognition come out of nowhere to you, or had it been in the cards for a while?
It did not come out of nowhere; there were signs for at least a year indicating this was possible.
Episode 7: Black Internationalism
Q: How do you think about empire and histories of imperial domination and their persistence?
Adom emphasizes the importance of Black perspectives in shaping the post-war international order and the significance of imagining a different kind of world post-empire.
