Flappy Bird was a mean game. It was extremely simple and yet punishingly difficult; if you could get 10 points, that meant you were pretty good! For a few weeks, the game became an absolute global phenomenon — and in the process, both made its creato... more

  • Just make it a YouTube show

This show relies on video too much for it to be presented as an audio show. The concept is great and I wish I could enjoy it, but it’s frustrating to miss out on key pieces. Admit it’s a YouTube show and take it off Podcasts.

  • My new favorite podcast

Reminiscing about the past is certainly entertaining. Add to that some tech and you have a compelling podcast. It is nice to have something more uplifting to listen to.

  • Fun but needs video

Did you know Apple Podcasts can be video? I’ve been subscribed to the TWIT network’s video podcast for decades. This podcast is a video podcast, listen at your own risk. It won’t make any sense when they play the many, many videos or all talk at once or make each other laugh with gestures or facial expressions. Aside from that it’s either a great history lesson or a walk down memory lane depending on your age and it’s fun.

  • The Future Is Elsewhere

I listen to The Verge as a way to learn about current and future technology. I find myself struggling to find the appeal of retrospective podcasts, and while listening to Version History, I can’t help but feel the memories and “remember when” questions asked and answered feel manufactured and disingenuous, or forced. At the end of the day, I can’t help but ask, who cares?
