This podcast can help anyone dealing with serious illness. Over the years, we have cared for and interviewed thousands of patients and families who tell us they felt overwhelmed and ‘in the dark’ during their illness journey. • So important

Thank you Sammi and Hsien for making so many of us feel seen and heard. Your work is so insightful and clear, and yet we doubt these truths so much on our own.

  • Incredible listening

I have just completed this entire podcast series of over a 100 episodes and am recommending it to everyone I meet. I have worked in palliative care for 25 years and this series has taught me new and fresh ways of talking about and navigating this difficult topic. There are some incredible guests interviewed. I have the book on my bedside table ready to start. Thank you to Sammy and Hsien!

  • Thank you

I work in the hospice community. I think it is so important what you are doing. This society is death phobic and grief illiterate. It’s so upsetting because it is costing lives and quality to end of lives. I have seen it through friends of friends and with the people I work with. I wish so much everyone could have an end of life doula. It makes me frustrated how health care treats life limiting conditions. I live in Ontario and I wish so much people were talking about home care and how it has su... more

  • Amazing - compassionate and informative

I was 30 when my mother passed from cancer in hospice care - and it was the best experience for her and our family. We were learning by experience and it took years to wrap our heads’ around her passing. Beautiful interviews and such wonderful conversations!! I too have become so impassioned about sharing what death and dying are really like. Thank you for your candid and meaningful discussions Hsien and Sammy!

  • Kathryn Mannix is my hero

I worked for many years as a Palliative Care Nurse Specialist and loved every moment of my career. I had to stop working after I had a recurrence of Ovarian Cancer and developed Breast Cancer in addition. Now I find myself in the Palliative phase of my disease and I share how I feel and what it’s all about as much as I can. However, I am just an ordinary person with only a small social media following so it’s impossible for me to spread the word very far. I came across Dr Kathryn Mannix through ... more
