I was appalled to hear Dr Day blame the government and taxpayers for the financial difficulties constraining healthcare. No!! There would be plenty of money to reduce wait lists and improve care if Galen Weston, Jimmy Pattison, et ilk paid an appropriate wealth tax instead of hoarding ill-gotten gains from price-fixing and firing good workers. Dr Day had some interesting ideas about how funding should be based on actual treatment of patients rather than lump sum funding of hospitals.
