上個星期，在節目中介紹了雪峰義存禪師相當器重的弟子，鏡清道怤禪師的生平故事。鏡清道怤禪師或許較不為後世所知，但是他在中國禪宗發展的歷史上，扮演了相當重要的角色，他將雪峰義存禪師的禪法，在吳越地區，也就是現在江浙一帶廣為弘揚。

在這一集節目中，聖嚴法師認為，青少年雖然已經有獨立的想法、獨立的做法，但是爸爸、媽媽常常會忘掉孩子已經長大了，總覺得孩子還小。如果孩子能夠多與父母商量，父母就會覺得孩子真的長大了，懂得道理，漸漸就會同意與尊重孩子的想法。
