  • Great content, questionable ad choices?

Love the content and journalism but was legitimately shocked when there was a Southern California Edison ad about their “fire preparedness” in the first five minutes of the latest episode? I thought Sammy was playing this to critique it but no…it was just an ad. A super greenwashed ad. Lost some respect.

  • Outstanding Podcast

I recently started listening to this show and I love it. It is so informative and entertaining. I would like to hear an interview with someone who has an opposing viewpoint who could discuss how compromises can be made and what may prevent that.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

ICYMI: “Breaking Down Plastic”
Q: Is this why you've got California now suing ExxonMobil and Los Angeles County suing Coca-Cola and Pepsi?
Yes, these lawsuits are due to plastic waste creating a public nuisance, and the governments argue these companies should pay for the cleanup.
ICYMI: “Breaking Down Plastic”
Q: What do we know or what are we starting to understand through the science and the research into plastics and microplastics and even nanoplastics?
We know these chemicals can behave like hormones and affect brain development and other health aspects, with microplastics found in nearly every organ in the body.
ICYMI: “Breaking Down Plastic”
Q: Can you talk about what that was like just to sort of ground this conversation, just how often you use plastic on a day-to-day basis?
It was overwhelming to document my interaction with plastic; I realized how much single-use plastic I interact with daily, which was distressing.
L.A. Is Finally Ditching Coal
Q: Will the combined gas hydrogen plant fire up in November as well?
We expect to have the combined cycle units fully commissioned by the end of November, with hydrogen coming into the mix in Q2 of 2026.
L.A. Is Finally Ditching Coal
Q: Why did LA and several other cities here in Southern California get together and build this thing?
We recognized the financial and reliability supply risks with oil, leading us to coal.
