  • Amazing Indigenous interviews

BSBB has that rare but delightful combination of being very easy to listen to while also being very interesting! With internet culture permeating so much of everyone’s lives, there’s different windows of exposure to vital aspects of Navajo values and traditions. And I found myself drawn to listening to BSBB because of how the host Nicole highlights all these different ways Navajo people have thrived and their achievements in a society where little space is made for indigenous cultures.

  • Important Native Topics with Ramona Emerson

TikToker Fawnzilla directed me to Burn Sage Burn Bridges’s last episode with Ramona Emerson’s books. Garcia’s good listening led Emerson to reveal how her childhood single filming directed her writing of today, directing the interview to some light on Native injustices by powerful entities like religious organizations, laws and justices, merchant industrialists, and even death managers like funeral homes. This interview is smart, articulate, and important. I love this episode.
