  • Amazing every time

Benjamin has a breathtaking range of non-flirting related interests which he integrates into dating advice in the most complex and unexpected ways. I especially love the way he asks question for us (the Flirties!) while not being afraid to challenge his guests. As a late 30s AFAB masc who has served time in the straight dating world, each episode is a revelation. Thank you!

  • Improving my outlook

Ben continues to make me feel better about myself and build my confidence and optimism in dating and flirting. As someone who is neurodivergent and lgbtq, I struggle with dating as I am a monogamous hopeless romantic who needs emotional connection above anything else. Every episode leaves me feeling positive and gives me something to take away that helps build a better life.

Q: What are some dating, love, relationship lessons you feel like you learned while doing therapy that you took forward into these 104 dates?
I learned to not settle and that there is a little luck and magic in dating. You must put yourself out there, but also leave room for the unexpected.
147. 104 Dates Later: A Single Parent's Guide to Dating with Heidi Friedman
Q: How did you manage finding people to go on dates with?
I relied on a lot of people in my circle, both family and friends to help so I could get out there and meet people and do things, and I also started using dating apps like Match and eHarmony.
147. 104 Dates Later: A Single Parent's Guide to Dating with Heidi Friedman
Q: How did you define love initially, right, kind of, let's say, pre-40?
Pre-40, I felt that you have an attraction and you have a connection and you feel something for that person, but I think I was formulating what I understand now, which is there's so much more to it.
148. The Love Episode with Shaun Galanos (fall flashback!)
Q: How to avoid coming on too strong in dating?
You need to tweak your approach if you're consistently driving people away by coming on too strong. Building a full, engaging life outside of dating can help with this.
148. The Love Episode with Shaun Galanos (fall flashback!)
Q: How soon is too soon to say I love you?
There's a significant emotional weight to saying 'I love you', and it's valid to express it when you feel it deeply. If someone is saying it and you don't feel the same, acknowledge it honestly.
