  • A Treasure for IFS Nerds (and anyone on a healing path)

John has a rare gift: he makes complex inner work feel accessible without ever watering down the depth. As someone with years of experience in the IFS model myself (fellow IFS nerd over here!), I’m continually impressed by the richness of these conversations. His guest experts—especially the live episodes with Bob Falconer—add even more perspective. What I love most is the balance: deeply professional yet warmly human. Every episode leaves me more connected to my authentic self with insights I c... more

  • Interview

I enjoy your podcast John, but in the episode with Elena Kundro, you talked way more than your guest did. She tried several times to jump in, but her efforts were not enough to change the flow. Everything you said was spot on for sure, but I wanted to hear much more about Elena’s healing journey and her practices! Maybe you could do a part 2. Thanks.

I would say not to overthink it before you start with IFS, but do be acquainted with it. This podcast is great place to start. The host is knowledgeable, inviting, and I learned... more

  • So insightful

I’m not a therapist but I’ve learned so much about IFS through this podcast. The live IFS therapy sessions even taught me how to practice parts work with myself, which has become an invaluable tool in my mental health journey. Excited for more episodes like that!

Work with the loudest part first, hearing them out, and connect them to self. Involve both polarized parts in the session to seek harmony and understanding, allowing self to lead the healing process.

Tend to any parts that have fears or concerns, and help clients reconnect with their parts. It might involve self-care practices like journaling, making art, or simply discussing what happened during the session to aid the client's process.
