These guys are doing great work scrutinising the steady degradation of Australian news media. Incisive, revealing, refreshing, and important. Essential listening if you care about our information environment and how it’s contributing to our growing social and political problems.
Five stars for their sensitive and courageous analysis of the abysmal coverage of the Bondi mass shooting.
I’ve followed Oz from The Culture to The Drop to here & (this might be weird) I find his voice super soothing. A part from that I love the topics covered & the takes on this pod. It’s a great sense check on what’s really going on after listening to or reading mainstream media about current news & events.
It’s great to see independent journalism thriving, the team are passionate and provide well researched topics of discussion every week. They leave me challenging my own biases and encourage critical thinking, which is something we can all use more of. This podcast has increased my media literacy and taught me to ask questions when reading articles and presented with facts that are potentially skewed.
Love the analysis on Lamestream but I think the hosts have glossed over Diane Kenton’s fervent support for Woody Allen- she undermined her own championing of women
