I am a mama to a beautiful, intelligent, autistic 5 yr old boy. We are a ministry family, and have never doubted that our God made our sweet boy on purpose for a purpose, and that his life can and does bring glory to God. However, what your podcast has helped me to see is that I had gotten so bogged down in the clinical aspect of his diagnosis, researching everything I could and reading every book or article I could get my hands on, I had compartmentalized the spiritual. I hadn’t set it aside, I... more
As a parent of an autistic child, whom we’ve known was autistic for some time but have just finally received a diagnosis after a long wait, this podcast has been so encouraging to our journey and my faith. The words of honesty, wisdom, and care from the hosts & guests are genuine and glorify the love and care of God.
Excellent podcast! We've been navigating this world of parenting an autistic kiddo for 5 years and it's lonely, confusing and difficult to think through how to help your kid, let alone how to do it Biblically. What an awesome voice into the autism parenting world.
I’m so glad to have found Raising Autistic Disciples! I’ve felt like I’ve been on this journey of autism alone and guessing my way through it in our secular world. To find believers on this same journey is so encouraging and helpful. Thank you for sharing your story.
This cross section of Jesus-following and parenting an autistic child feels so small, so I’m very thankful I found other like-minded people to listen to! I wish podcasters Larah and Collin were my neighbors! I’ve loved all the episodes. I’m not sure why I listened to episode number two last, but it was my favorite. I’ve tried having conversations with people about whether there could have been autism before the Fall or if there will be autism when God makes all thing new. No one really tracks wi... more
I am new this world. I will be finding out the diagnosis of my little one in a few days. I have been a search for understanding, community, anything because I have no close where to even begin. Thank you soo much for creating a space! The episode diagnosis has helped me such. 🥹
I am a special-needs ministry, Director and I am loving your podcast. I have been working in special-needs ministry for over 14 years now. And I have always struggled in my heart wondering if the children that I’m working with are understanding the gospel and ways to teach it to them. I have made it my mission to create an environment in my church for children and families to feel accepted and loved at church because I was a child with special needs, and I never felt love and accepted when I wen... more
Love you guys!! Your conversations are so encouraging. Thankful for your love for Jesus and I’m so glad to know your precious family.
My best friend told me about this podcast and I’m so thankful she did! We’ve been walking through this autism journey for a few years, but it’s so encouraging to know that that you aren’t alone and that God has a plan and purpose for all of us!
I am thankful to Larah and Colin for undertaking this assignment from the Lord! I don’t have an autistic child, but this has been a blessing to me as I navigate our family’s special needs journey. Thank you for your honesty and realness! I am enjoying listening!
I love this Podcast for so many reasons, but the main reason I love it is because it’s NEEDED!!! I don’t think I have heard another podcast like it. Raising our children to know the Lord is such a blessing! I need all the resources I can get! I think this is a fantastic resource to help me discipline children with autism.
These are so amazing! It was something I needed. Please keep them coming.
In a world of unlimited podcasts there is a need for Christ centered and insightful discussions around discipling God’s children with autism. The Lord planted the seed in Larah’s heart to be a voice for this community and she is faithfully and wonderfully fulfilling that call. As an aunt to a nephew with autism I am anxiously awaiting to glean wisdom from her conversations.
