Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Imposter Coach with Dave Downey
Q: When did you start feeling more confident in your abilities as a strength coach?
Confidence grew towards the end of my second internship when I began managing the entire football team on my own.
Imposter Coach with Dave Downey
Q: What kept you going throughout your challenging early internship experiences?
Building personal relationships with athletes and knowing that I could help them succeed kept me motivated to persist in coaching despite adversity.
Embracing Adversity with Liane Blyn
Q: Can you just give me a breakdown of your career, where you've been, and then what's led you to Arizona State?
Liane Blyn recounts her journey from a small town in Massachusetts, playing field hockey and softball, to pursuing athletic training and transitioning into strength conditioning. She emphasizes her experiences at different universities, including working with significant figures in the field and facing challenges related to gender biases throughout her career.
The Power of Relationship Based Coaching with Conner Freeland
Q: What was it like transitioning from a coaching role to a business development role?
The biggest difference is the lack of daily interactions with athletes. I have to redefine who I am outside of being a coach and find ways to maintain relationships, which is crucial in the business world.
The Power of Relationship Based Coaching with Conner Freeland
Q: What was your injury and how did it influence your decision to become a strength coach?
My injury was a significant back injury caused by poor movement patterns that led to multiple herniated discs. The extensive rehabilitation process showed me how much individualized attention could help athletes recover, and it inspired me to provide that same support to others as a strength coach.
