Justin Alexander was a survival expert, a full-time vagabond, and the kind of man who could disappear—if he wanted to. But in 2016, after venturing into India’s remote and unforgiving Parvati Valley, he didn’t come back. Led into the Himalayas by a holy man on a so-called spiritual quest, Justin left behind whispers, half-truths, and a cryptic, haunting message: "If I’m not back by mid-September, ... more

  • Weird inflection is awful

I forced myself to finish this one, but I spent most of my time repeating back the repetitive inflection of the host’s delivery. It was absolutely laughable because you could perfectly predict how every other sentence would end with the same odd sweeping down-then-up of his voice, as if he’s riding in a car with someone who drives with both feet. 😂 It’s terribly distracting. I’ll stick to podcasts created by actual journalists from now on.

  • Pointless

While the subject matter and the case itself certainly had some interesting aspects, it felt like the host was too involved personally and trying to have his own “hero” moment by telling this story. Nothing comes of it - no conclusions, no real leads, no confirmed new information. In the end I really felt like I had wasted my time listening to this podcast.

  • Privacy

Listening to season one and so far it’s a very good listen. But I’m now to the point where they’re getting into his phone/email and I can’t get past how wrong this feels. Dude deserves his privacy even if his death left loose ends. I think you crossed a line.

  • Great podcast

People that are criticizing this podcast due to the stories featured being about white people traveling and “getting what they deserve” should be banned from reviewing. You missed the point. Liam, the narrator, actually traveled halfway around the world to bring this story to us and did an amazing job. Don’t listen to the haters. Cannot wait for the next season.

  • When Storytelling Misses the Mark

So basically, it’s just a podcast about white people going to foreign countries, trying to profit, play culture vulture, or step into the “white savior” role with indigenous communities—and of course ending up in messy situations because of their own ignorance. Honestly, not the most interesting subject. And it makes me wonder: what qualifications does this host even have to tell these stories? The way he frames it drifts into racist territory, and the script feels flat, missing the nuance a top... more
