I was a morbidly obese heart surgeon.

All through high school, college, med school and surgical training, I followed the U.S. dietary guidelines for both diet and exercise. Yet nothing I did kept the weight off.

I just kept getting fatter and fatter. Each day in surgery, I would split open the chests of people just like me. I knew I was heading for the operating table myself if I didn't find so... more

  • “bad virus”?

Why in 171 does the guest refer to Covid as the “bad virus” over and over again and didn’t want to say long Covid? Midways through she also surprised with falling on ice and hitting her head. Seemed out of context. I found this episode very odd.

  • Great info, too bad co-host is an idiot

I like Dr. Ovadia, but damn…I just listened to the episode about the 70-year-old woman overcoming illness through diet, and the stuff he was saying…he’s clearly trying to sympathize, but calling her poor and uneducated (turns out she’s educated), followed by his usual asinine remarks…it’s really hard to try and listen to more episodes cause you know this dumb hype man is gonna chime in. Maybe I’ll stick to finding Dr. Ovadia as a podcast guest.
