  • Always brings out the best.

I often find myself thinking after an episode how interesting and eloquent the guest is (it’s just as good when there is no guest) The Suella Braverman episode is a great example of this. I

Loved how they got to her phi on our common law.

  • Soy Boy & Mum Works!

Whilst not infrequently wincing at the Tim Stanley perspective(s) - Man Up, Dear Boy! - whilst simultaneously rolling my eyes further Camilla Tominey’s Alpha Mum schtick, I have to confess that The Daily T podcast has become a weekday staple. Good Analysis, Good Guests and, I have to concede (sometimes through gritted, Generation X teeth…), Very Good Chemistry between the presenters that quite simply ‘works’. Last week’s wholly justified and detailed take down of the BBC was wonderful (and long,... more

  • Very good podcast

It is a pleasure to hear those two talk in a very relaxed and erudite way about UK matters with depth and humor, and I am not even British and not even living in the UK. However, I know a good podcast when i hear one.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

The shocking truth about the royal finances
Q: What's your biggest concern about the way that they are financed?
The Sovereign Grant provides far too much money for the royals, which is based on a flawed prospectus.
Vindicated: Diana's private secretary on Bashir's BBC betrayal
Q: Is the saddest aspect of all this, Patrick, the fact that she died thinking you'd betrayed her when you'd done nothing of the sort?
It would be sad if I hadn't done my best to speak up for her. I hope she now understands the complexities surrounding our ending relationship.
Vindicated: Diana's private secretary on Bashir's BBC betrayal
Q: When you found out, when did you first find out, Patrick, because you're in this desperately difficult situation that somebody you've worked for, and I mean, I'd say loved and admired, I think that's an accurate way to describe your relationship with Princess Diana.
I felt a huge numbness and loss. Processing her death took time and was complicated by the dynamics of our ending relationship.
Vindicated: Diana's private secretary on Bashir's BBC betrayal
Q: Now, Patrick, she obviously had a very strong public image, beautiful, fragile, the people's princess. What was she really like in private? And could she be difficult?
Diana was a great historical figure, not always sweet. She faced immense pressures and was remarkably level-headed, often able to humorously navigate through her challenges.
Reeves's welfare Budget betrayal
Q: Is she the victim of sexism, Rachel Reeves?
It's possible that Rachel has a point with some criticism, but fundamentally, her issues stem from her performance rather than her gender.
