Sorry, but I just can’t get on with the new presenter and format. Much preferred. Charles Rowe and the old format.
Please! Bring back the nation’s history sweetheart Dr Steven Brindle!!
Miss the former presenter Charles , it’s just not the same without him. I’ve tried to listen to these podcasts since he left the show but I just can’t take to the new presenter. She sounds so fake it ruins the show.
This is a great podcast - fascinating insights into English history from enthusiastic experts. Really enjoyable and informative.
As others have said, I hardly listen to the show anymore. Charles Rowe and the scholarly yet conversational tone of the old episodes was more compelling. The new conceit of having the host seem clueless and making the subject matter light and silly isn’t very interesting.
