  • Essential listening for fellow fat people and those who love them

I have loved this podcast for years. The factual nature of it appeals to my scientifically leaning brain, and the compassion and common sense just make it a no-brainer. The episode that finally made me leave a review was the one with Dra. Monika Peralta as a guest. She just tells it how it is. Nothing but respect and love. Do yourself a favour and have a squiz.

  • Well-researched and sourced

I love how well researched and sourced this podcast is, and how adamantly the host adopts an anti-shame framework. I think shame accomplishes a whole lot of nothing, so it’s really refreshing to see a doctor that’s very medically competent present this information in terms that lay people can understand. Sad that there aren’t more doctors willing to disavow themselves from the weight loss industry, but am I ever glad we’ve got Dr. Asher!

  • Ethics concern

Both options make me super uncomfortable. I know Asher says that the person is fictional, but a lot of it feels like a real scenario, and I know having my nutritional/mental health stories shared in support of a fake story without ... more
