  • Ireland is the coolest island on the planet !

Honestly, I found Fender’s podcast by chance because he interviewed Irish artist Guggi who I am a long time fan of. It was such a terrific interview. I was very impressed. Fender is so engaging & thoughtful with his questions. You really feel like you are sitting at the table during his interviews. I have been listening to many of the other episodes now. 206. Steve Vai: Guitarist - Part Two
Q: How do you feel about the direction given by producers during recording?
It's based on the musician; some prefer direction while others thrive on freedom.

Q: How do you balance commerciality and artistry?
I don't. I follow my vision and instinct to create.
205. Steve Vai: Guitarist - Part One
Q: Can you chart me through your career?
Steve details his journey from growing up in Long Island, discovering music early on, to transcribing for Frank Zappa and his subsequent bands.
205. Steve Vai: Guitarist - Part One
Q: Do you feel you're a better guitarist now?
In some aspects, yes, but in others, no. There's an edge that softens with technique and intensity, but depth evolves over time.
204. Jane O’Leary: Musician - Part 2
Q: How do you account for that? I mean, what's the reason for music being excluded from the normal concert repertoire?
There's complacency as people stick to what they know, and commercial interests often lead musicians to only perform well-known works to ensure audience attendance.
