  • Thank you

    Lydia,

I’m truly loving the podcast. I love all of your artistic output from back in the Rollins, Bajema and of course the one and only Mr. Hubert Selby Jr days. Stay well and keep up the great work. Really love the writer episodes. Thank you.

  • Maybe for the guests ?

2 stars I suppose for guests like Nandor but mostly can’t recommend. Listening to Lydia pretend like she’s the most radical and transgressive person ever while selling political ideals barely more challenging than a college age over eager female pick me working for the Elizabeth Warren campaign is insufferable

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Episode 440 Percussionist Blake Fleming
Q: What's the attraction to upstate New York?
I fell in love with the Catskill area during a camping trip in the late 90s, and my wife and I loved the area, which we found comforting yet a bit scary.
Episode 440 Percussionist Blake Fleming
Q: Did you fall in love with music and then resume music, or did you start music and it kind of consumed you?
I had very strong memories of being about five years old and discovering Kiss and feeling a total electricity when I would hear some of that music. By the time I was five, I definitely had a strong bond with music, and by the age of eight, I started to play the snare drum and study music.
Episode 336 Kavus Torabi
Q: But do you feel in your blood any of your heritage? Or because at 18 months you moved to the UK and your mother is English, that that's the dominant inspiration?
It's a complex situation, because I do think about the heritage, but also having moved so young, there's a lot of English influence in my life.
Episode 335 Writer Mishka Shubaly
Q: What made you decide to go sober?
Mishka explains that he had many rock bottoms and came to realize he was just going to be a barback for the rest of his life.
Episode 334 Byron Coley
Q: Why did you make this book?
Byron explains that he and Thurston have been talking about it for years; the time provided by COVID helped them finally put it together.
