  • Why so many Eric’s?

Love the show and for years have thought about starting a YT channel but it seems like there’s already too many woodworkers named Eric. Do I need to change my name?

  • Best woodworking podcast out there!

Y’all are the BEST! Art, science, philosophy, business, psychology, society, oh and woodworking, all in one show! Listening to you in the shop is the best part of my week. And that episode when you mentioned Alan Watts was life-changing (both for me personally and how I teach). Thank you for great content! I look forward to each new episode.

  • You guys need to run for office!

Been catching up on watching the older podcasts. Very fun to hear the back and forth from such good friends. It reminds me of the way we shop rats talked to each other in the 42 years I worked in an assembly plant for General Motors. You are all very intelligent and I would vote for you for President, Vice-President , and Secretary of State in the next election.

Success to me is about enjoying the creative process and being able to make a living doing what I love, which right now is creating and sharing my experiences on YouTube.
Episode 42 - It's never too late to REINVENT YOURSELF & YOUR CAREER (w/ Michael Alm)
Q: Michael, what did you, where did you go after that?
After getting fired, I spent some time in a bar with colleagues, realizing we were happier without the stress, and then I took a risk to pursue my art more seriously.
Episode 40 - Why STORYTELLING Is Your Most Valuable Skill (Part 2)
Q: So, Justin, why does the price increase? Does the price increase the price point?
As a consumer, the story truly does increase the price because now I can share that with somebody who goes, what is that box with this curly piece of wood?
Episode 40 - Why STORYTELLING Is Your Most Valuable Skill (Part 2)
Q: Do you think storytelling plays a role in pricing and perceived value of your work?
Absolutely. A widget is just a widget until it's got a story behind it.
Episode 40 - Why STORYTELLING Is Your Most Valuable Skill (Part 2)
Q: Have you ever struggled to tell your own story? What held you back?
Yes, I struggled telling my own story because I wasn't sure what it was. Until you approached me and forced me to crystallize my thinking, I had never done the hard work to put it into a framework.
