  • Very healing

It’s very healing and validating to hear Torie’s personal

experiences which she shares so generously and her very clear and insightful guidance how to deal with narcissist parents. For the reviews that are saying it’s one-sided and the child can be also the problem…well, for adult children dealing with narcissist parents it *is* one sided, sadly …as well as incredibly nuanced, which many therapists do not fully understand, with so many emotions involved for the adult child. I’m not sure why the ... more

  • Didn't really say anything

I'm not a parent but have witnessed young adults I know going no contact and find this topic fascinating. I tuned into the podcast hoping to learn something about a wave that seems to be sweeping the US. But all I heard here was a cheerleader saying things like , "it was never about us; it was always about the parents!" and "People in this community are the kindest, best people in world!" Of course it's also about the person going no contact. How can a therapist say otherwise? And this idea that... more

  • One sided

Therapy is supposed to help clients explore their experiences safely--not push a narrative that always casts one side as the villain.

Adult children sometimes have addictions, etc. Parents don’t have to and shouldn’t have to put up with adult children’s toxic behavior. ITS NOT ALWAYS PARENTS… just because she has unresolved parent issues doesn’t mean all adult children who go no contact is because of the parent!!

  • Very helpful information

This podcast has been very clarifying for me and my family’s dynamics. I didn’t realize until this past year how much tolerance I had developed for such toxic behaviors by others. This has also been very validating bc my sister and I have convos about trying to figure out what’s going on in our family and this podcast has brought up a lot of things we brought up with each other organically. It’s hard to understand if you don’t grow up with this kind of family bc on the outside they appear as sai... more
