  • Plant fibre and sheep

Wild sheep don’t need to be shorn, the romans bred sheep that don’t lose their hair, so they do need to be shorn

They are a herd animal so I don’t think they would like to be on their own

Almost every plant seems to be able to be converted into fibre

I am vegan and use soy, hemp, nettles, sea weed bamboo and bio nylon. Linen, cotton

They all have their environmental costs, it would be interesting to know which are best

The dyes, processes and land use

Many can be made from post production waste... more

  • Great but just a little biased…

Whilst I agree with virtually everything here, I was a bit disappointed when Dale was talking about greening the festivals. He talked quite a bit about what he was doing at WOMAD & how all festivals needed to get rid if the diesel generators etc. However, would it have hurt anyone for him to mention the mammoth undertaking that Octopus Energy (a rival energy company) achieved at Glastonbury. They erected a giant wind turbine & powered the whole festival by renewable energy. Something all of us s... more

A vegan lifestyle can offset a significant amount of carbon emissions, allowing for flights to European destinations and potentially New York.
A Tale Of Two Forests

The effectiveness of COP is often questioned, but they have historically led to incremental progress in addressing climate issues.
The Wealth Tax Cometh?

The Wealth Tax Cometh?
Q: Is there some kind of wealth tax coming in the budget?
There is a real sense that something like this is going to happen later this month, particularly with the proposal to tax wealthy individuals on their way out of the country.
The Wealth Tax Cometh?
Q: Dale, eco-friendly products are just so expensive. I would like to switch my chewing gum, toilet paper and washing machine products. Any opinion on which one I should prioritize?
A lot of green alternatives are getting cheaper, but they are often more expensive than non-green options. It's an old problem, but the gap is closing, and with proper taxation, we could make green alternatives cheaper.
