  • Getting dull…

The podcast is starting to get a little dull and more partisan political focused. I now put off listening in favor of more relevant, less partisan and more timely episodes about current foreign affairs issues. Maybe time for some new (guest) hosts to mix things up a little.

  • Lost its way…

I used to really love this podcast and enjoyed hearing the “war stories” from our foreign service professionals. Unfortunately, this show has become yet another political program. This program used to rise above it all. It would be well served to return to that.

Venezuela: Be Careful What You Wish For
Q: If indeed Maduro and his ilk leave, what would happen under Machado's governance if the U.S. insists on a neoliberal approach?
It would help her, but it would require a significant investment of U.S. resources and political will.
Venezuela: Be Careful What You Wish For
Q: How about that? Would covert action on Venezuelan soil be enough to get them to think about leaving?
It's certainly a toolkit that might be applicable, but not something you can turn on overnight.
Venezuela: Be Careful What You Wish For
Q: What would it take for Maduro and his ilk to leave the country?
They are going to have to see that there's a better option for them to leave, which is a high order in a place like that.
Milei: Man or Maniac?
Q: Do you think that Milei will be able to make changes in the economy, diversify the economy in ways that would help Argentina to become a healthier global economy?
Structural adjustment is necessary, but people are suffering and the options are limited.
Milei: Man or Maniac?
Q: Is there enough to eat? Are they able to go to the...
Argentina is not as impoverished as some countries, but there are slums and people are suffering.
