Q: How should policymakers approach AI ethics to account for cultural differences?
Policymakers need to consider empirical results and methodologies that reflect the various ways people understand ethics across cultures.
Rewriting History with AI
Q: What recommendations do you have for addressing these AI-related challenges in education?
We recommend developing educational frameworks for teachers, creating a coalition of historians to assess and improve LLMs, and establishing protocols for dealing with misinformation.
In Defense of Killer Robots
Q: What milestones should we look out for to assess the over-reliance on autonomous systems?
If the judgment of a military commander is no longer the primary factor in decision-making due to an AI's control, that indicates a serious concern.
In Defense of Killer Robots
Q: How feasible is comprehensive safety testing in unpredictable battlefield scenarios?
It's incredibly challenging, but you have to consider that humans also make mistakes under pressure, and testing is about establishing benchmarks for those scenarios.
In Defense of Killer Robots
Q: Why do you hate humanity so much?
It's a great question. My wife and family ask me that all the time.
