  • Mao to Xi Episode

I’ve followed this podcast for over a year now. I had to leave a review after listening to this episode with a group of peers from developing countries. This episode was a stunner.

The episode was filled with arrogance and self-righteousness as thick as molasses.

  • Podcast soulmates

Interviewer seems to be very defensive and very aggressive in the way she is interviewing. I don’t like this way of interviewing.

  • Tired of western perspectives

I thought this show would be a much more comprehensive look into US China relations, but in reality, it’s nothing more than western liberals interviewing Chinese liberals. Where are the communists? Where are the people that are supportive of China’s government?

The Xi Factor

Sullivan describes Xi as imposing yet relaxed, capable of dynamic conversation across various tones, and adept at serious discussions without showing disdain for the U.S.
China's Arms Race
Q: Do you worry that the world is entering a new arms race?
In the nuclear field, I do not worry about that because escalating arsenals would be a very imprudent move by the United States.
China's Arms Race
Q: What does the primary purpose of the parade you mentioned in the episode highlight about China's intentions?
The parade serves multiple purposes: showcasing military strength and demonstrating transparency in China's military capabilities to counter Western criticism.
Generation Burnout
Q: What do you think of AI as a solution to these issues?
AI is a sophisticated tool, but it isn't a solution to the current malaise and economic challenges; it needs to be used effectively to build something new.
