  • Ads Louder than the Content

I don’t necessarily mind ads, but I will not listen to the content when the ads are significantly louder than the content, as they are here. Too bad.

Origins of the ICE Machine
Q: What were some consequences of the militarization of immigration enforcement post-9/11?
The militarization has led to increased violence and brutal tactics in communities, shifting the perception of immigrants as threats rather than individuals seeking safety.
Origins of the ICE Machine
Q: How did the 1996 legislation plant the seeds for the enforcement presence we see today?
The 1996 legislation emphasized military-like responses to immigration issues, moving enforcement into a national security focus, which increased the scale and intensity of deportations.
American Fascism, American Hitlers
Q: What are your thoughts on the invocation of fascism in modern American politics?
Historically, fascism and populism intersect, but using the term can cloud political analysis and overlooks specific American trends.
American Fascism, American Hitlers
Q: Is there an American fascism? How would you define it?
There's a tradition of right-wing populism that can parallel fascism, but definitions of fascism can be politically charged and subjective.
American Fascism, American Hitlers
Q: So how did Hitler's party do in his first midterm elections?
The political context is complex, and while we're not living in a Nazi dictatorship, it doesn't mean we should disregard observations of fascist trends.
