  • Good but not great

Often good content and guests, but Rip is not a great interviewer. He’s clearly a warm person, though, so that saves the day most of the time. I always fast forward through the first 5 to 7 minutes of every interview, however, because he has to recap where he met the person, which is sooooo boring and of not interest to listeners.

  • Great subjects, new host

I could consume podcasts on these subjects hour after hour, and I truly do respect Rip and all he has done for the space! However, he is simply not a strong interviewer, and I would love to see some fresh energy brought in.

Ep. 337: Jet Benitez - The Keto Diet Almost Killed Him. So, He Turned to Plants.
Q: What recommendation or advice would you give to someone considering whether to go down the ketogenic path or more of a whole food, plant-centric lifestyle?
I would say just like Mike, my friend in New Jersey, told me, I'd say, do your own research. In my experience, definitely, definitely whole food plant based will give you a longer life, give you better numbers; everything just improved so much.

Q: What is the best way to attack inflammation?
Dr. B emphasizes that the best way to address inflammation is through gut health and a plant-based diet.
Ep. 333: Dr. Dawn Mussallem - Expert Diet, Supplement, and Mindset Tips for Breast Cancer Patients (Replay)
Q: What supplements do you recommend for your breast cancer patients who are also going down the whole food plant-based path?
Dr. Mussallem emphasizes that there is no magic bullet and recommends focusing on specific supplements like Vitamin D and Vitamin B12, while also addressing individual deficiencies rather than blanket recommendations.
Ep. 327: Sunny Sharma, MD - He Faced a Brain Tumor — and Found the True Power of Lifestyle Medicine
Q: What was your experience like transitioning from traditional medicine to lifestyle medicine?
I have found that focusing on the office allows for more time to have meaningful conversations about diet and prevention.
Ep. 324: Marlene Skiver and Dr. Laurie Marbas - After a Lifetime of Caring for Others, She’s Finally Caring for Herself
Q: What are some health concerns that have kind of crept up on you in the last maybe 10, 15 years?
Marlene discussed her struggles with pre-diabetes, elevated cholesterol, and stress-related health issues over the years.
