Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

NY health insurance marketplace disrupted by federal inaction
Q: What would it take to replace the lost enhanced credits or begin to fill that hole?
It's not billions, but we're talking in the hundreds of millions, depending on the level of subsidy we're looking at.
NY health insurance marketplace disrupted by federal inaction
Q: What if any impact is that having on the open enrollment period right now?
It is impacting things, as enrollment levels are down about 8 percent compared to the same day last year due to concerns over the expiration of the tax credits.
State hopes to accelerate transmission permitting process
Q: What are your expectations then, either in the transmission side or the power generation side for what is actually going to look like in terms of the landscape moving forward?
I hope the horizon is on the order of five to ten years. We have to install more than double that amount by 2030, five years from now.
State hopes to accelerate transmission permitting process
Q: Can you talk a little bit about what you came up with for navigating wetlands that developers might encounter?
The existing Article 8 ORES process for minimizing the impacts to wetlands works extremely well and has been tested across those 27 permits that we've issued to date.
Prison oversight measures await the governor's signature.
Q: Is it possible that this could also be a deterrent?
I think the cameras could prove to be one of the best deterrents to eliminate abuse or to help reduce some acts of violence that take place.
