  • Mixed bag.

Decent on defence and IR stuff; energy stuff has to be taken with a grain of salt—still a bit stuck in the past there.

  • Building in the High Arctic

Dave Perry is so good. A national treasure. This information on the High Arctic should be invaluable for future DND programs. The Canadian public needs to know the scope and challenges in order to induce private capital.

  • Great content, poor audio production

I so badly want to love this pod but the audio quality is so poor (always super low volume, have to crank it way up, the "s"s are harsh and tinny, guests are often even quieter and scratchy) that I often give up 1/3 of the way through.

One of the best podcasts for in-depth discussions about the machinery of the Canadian government, especially the military and diplomacy spheres.

A Pipeline or a Pipe Dream? Ft. Jack Mintz
Q: Do you see this MOU having a major impact on Canada's economic challenges, or could this be seen mostly as just a foreign policy goal?
The MOU is a first step, but its effectiveness largely depends on the specifics and the commitment to improving competitiveness in energy production.
A Pipeline or a Pipe Dream? Ft. Jack Mintz
Q: Jack, to help frame the discussion, we should unpack Canada's current economic context and the strategic implications of the challenges facing our economy.
Canada faces several economic challenges, including a productivity crisis and changing U.S. trade policies which might threaten Canada's competitive position.
Integrated Air and Missile Defence
Q: How much do you think the relationship that we currently have with NORAD has been impacted by what Canada does or does not do with Integrated Air and Missile Defence?
The relationship with NORAD is vital, and Canada's capability will reflect in its credibility and importance in North American defense strategies.
Integrated Air and Missile Defence
Q: What are your thoughts about the focus the government has taken on integrated air and missile defence?
The current focus is indeed appropriate, as IAMD is essential for Canada's defense, but there are concerns regarding the exclusion of ballistic missile defense from discussions.
