Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

America's Soul: Adam Kinzinger on Courage and Country
Q: So just to go back to your film. Like, have you received much feedback from people either inside the government, military politicians, national security about how the film resonates with the various professionalism and service?
I've heard nothing but good stuff about the documentary. It's received positive reviews, and people appreciate the human experience displayed within it.
America's Soul: Adam Kinzinger on Courage and Country
Q: So you were on the committee, and you uncovered volumes of documents, interviews, debates. I thought it was really obviously well done. What motivated you to open your life and do that documentary, that kind of scrutiny?
Initially, I didn't want to do the documentary, but realizing the human element was crucial and knowing I'd want to explain this to my child motivated our decision.
America's Soul: Adam Kinzinger on Courage and Country
Q: So here's my question. What juicy stuff did you leave out? What other stuff do you have on Trump in January 6 that you didn't bring up in the committee?
A lot of it is in the report, but we couldn't focus on everything. The radicalization through fundraising emails between the election and January 6th was a significant element we didn't emphasize enough.
America's Soul: Adam Kinzinger on Courage and Country
Q: Adam, do you think there's still room in the Republican Party for moderates or centrist?
No, I fully agree that there is no room for moderates or centrists in the Republican Party as it currently stands.
We’re Sitting on a Powder Keg
Q: How do you think your influence can be on the conversation regarding civic engagement?
I focus on encouraging effective actions like contacting representatives and participating in local governance to channel frustrations in a productive way.
