I’m so happy I stumbled upon this podcast because am as clueless as they come when it’s about divorce. I’m in the deep end of it right now and I think this is God’s way of protecting me and my children before finalizing the divorce. Thank you so much Sam and Leah. I don’t know if you both interested in dabbling in military divorce but I wish there’s more information on this as well. As a military spouse navigating divorce, it’s a whole different ball games. Post Divorce Fresh Start with Olivia Howell
Q: What are the first emotional or practical steps that someone can take when they're beginning their own fresh start after divorce?
Reframe a fresh start as a regeneration of everything you've learned from your past. Building a 'hype team' of supportive experts is crucial, as is reconnecting with who you were before your marriage.
Break Free from Manipulators: Expert Tips from Dr. Favaro
Q: What advice would you give to women struggling with self-doubt after emotional abuse?
Building trust in one's own judgment is a lifelong process, and it's essential to develop a mindful approach to living — appreciating simple things in the moment.
Break Free from Manipulators: Expert Tips from Dr. Favaro
Q: What are specific tactics that narcissistic or high-conflict exes use in co-parenting that moms need to be watching out for?
The first thing is to convince yourself not to go punch for punch with the person; engaging in conflict only empowers toxic people.
Break Free from Manipulators: Expert Tips from Dr. Favaro
Q: How can people start to tell the difference between a disagreement and manipulation?
You have to look at what happens at the end of the disagreement; if both partners take responsibility and accountability, it's healthy. If not, it indicates manipulation.
Break Free from Manipulators: Expert Tips from Dr. Favaro
Q: What inspired you to write Bad People Bible, and how does it speak to someone in the middle of a messy divorce or a custody battle?
I wrote this book because I work with a lot of people, mostly women, who engage in very toxic relationships with men, believing that their love is going to fix them, and I wanted to provide insights on bad behavior.
