On this week’s show: is $140,000 a year the new poverty line? Is $400,000 a moderate income? Is the softening in car buying an indication that middle-income Americans have grown more financially pressed in recent months?

When they were only dropping an episode every month, I assumed the show was great because they spent the other 29 days recovering from how hard they were thinking. But now they’re releasing episodes way more often…and somehow it’s still just as good. The takes are sharp, the ideas are weird in the best way, and the topics never miss. Ben remains my favorite because he’s clearly not well. I pray to the hibachi gods that I spot him at a Benihana someday.
Long time Josh Barro listener so I’m glad to have another podcast with him as host. Biggest complaint would be the discussion frequently gets into an urban elite wealthy-lifestyle spiral that I find a bit nauseating. The majority of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck - I don’t care too much what well paid journalists who went to Ivy League schools think about the plight of having to book business class seats on a plane.
I finally got around to listening to an episode of Central Air, and I’ll be back. Also, really enjoyed Megan bringing her husband to work.
Ugh, Epstein was convicted of sex trafficking, Ghislaine was convicted of sex trafficking, why wasn’t anyone else prosecuted?
Good but all hosts are not equal. One is severely lacking in knowledge and interesting takes compared to the other. The takes from BD are ill informed, calculated for a response, and just not very interesting. Pass until the hosts are down to two.
