  • A Connecticut Yankee loving Judge Wise’s approach to history of a very romantic state.

I wish I had Judge Wise’s insights into Texas history when I was stationed across Texas before deployment to Southeast Asia during Vietnam War. My wife and I have returned on vacation and made a point to visit sites The Judge highlighted in his podcasts. See you down the road and God bless Texas and Connecticut.

I’ve been listening to podcasts for years. Wise about Texas is one of, if not the best I’ve listened to. So well researched and produced. Judge Wise is brilliant and super articulate. If you’re like me and an adopted son of this great state don’t miss an episode. Now I’m fixin to go make some Chili for dinner. NO BEANS y’all.

  • Great listen

As a longtime transplant to Texas I love this podcast. Obviously in my home state of North Carolina we were pretty light on the Texas history lessons so I’ve really enjoyed making up for that with Judge Wise. My only wish is that he had more episodes out!

EP. 129: Making Texas History: An Interview with Governor Rick Perry (Part 2)
Q: Can you tell us a little bit, you went from Texas to Washington, DC., that must have been quite the transition?
Being a cabinet member is like sitting on a log in a river during a raging flood, trying to guide it to a destination, as the bureaucracy runs the government.
EP. 129: Making Texas History: An Interview with Governor Rick Perry (Part 2)
Q: What do you think that Texans should think about from their history when they think about Texas today?
Anything is possible. I'm living proof of that. My family didn't come from any means. My dad was as good a man as ever walked on Texas soil, but he didn't have a lot of wealth.
