Amazing breakdowns on highly technical information allowing paddlers from all abilities to comprehend and apply the knowledge of over 30 years in the industry.
Good content. The guitar end tune however is incredibly loud in comparison to the voice. Not nice when listening on headphones...
Loving the information in the podcasts. Varied topics and great explanations!
Great advice on Race starts, a solid warm up and holding back for the first bit,, needed the reminder as the body and mind want to go flat out with the adrenaline of the start.. thanks.
G’day coach,
The podcast on grip and grip pressure was a game changer for me. After listening more than half a dozen times and paddling straight away after it, my entire technique changed significantly. Leg drive and rotation now became a necessity as the stroke shortened and engaging lats ensured that everything was connected and integral. Moving much quicker than last year. Thanks mate.

I just recently discovered this podcast and am 100% hooked on it. Julian is extremely knowledgeable on the subject of surfski paddling and he provides advice and tips on how to improve your paddling. I highly recomment this podcast for surfski paddlers and competitive kayakers alike. This is the podcast for paddlers I've been hoping somebody would do.
Been paddling for a long time but never been coached. In listening to these podcasts I have noticed a significant improvement in a very short time. Everything is so well explained, not just what to do but why to do it.
Although I compete at outrigger canoeing much of the knowledge gained through this podcast is transferable across many water sports. Keep the great tips and drills coming!
Thanks Julian. Some new thoughts in there for me. And I get plenty of remounting practice lol. Gary
Even considering myself a growing intermediate surfski paddler and digesting everything I can on the sport (books, forums, videos, training camps), Coach Julian's Surf Ski Coach podcast gave me tips and analogies I never heard before. Great tips so far on such topics as easily determining paddle length, hip rotation (with that tip unlocking increased speed the first time I tried just looking at my GPS data), reading the waves and balance training have been invaluable to me. What I also like is... more
Thanks surf ski coach for your insight and tips. Keep the podcasts coming!!
I was sceptical at how much a podcast could help bur I was very pleasantly surprised. Julian’s tips on paddle length, angle, and hand setup were the best I have heard and helped me straight away. Great stuff
I'm a newbie and lucky enough to have local chaps to paddle with however this Podcast helps me fill the gaps and adds to my motivation!
A great podcast on all things paddling from a true down to earth coach with tonnes of experience & insights.
Nothing like this in the podcast sphere to date.
Really enjoy.
Great advice for all levels of paddlers
Thanks
